A man killed at least 10 people in a mass shooting, seriously injuring nine others at a university in Prague, Czech Republic.

The Faculty of Philosophy at Charles University, in the city center – a popular winter destination among tourists – was the target of the attack on Thursday afternoon (21). Several were killed and others injured, it is reported.
The shooter died after unleashing a tragic bloody frenzy on students in the capital, as confirmed by Czech Interior Minister Vit Rakusan. There is ongoing discussion whether he committed suicide.

According to local media, 11 people died, including the shooter, with nine other victims seriously injured, six requiring hospital treatment, and a further 10 suffering minor injuries.

On Twitter, journalist Filip Horký wrote: “There was a shooting at the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University in Prague. There are fatalities and injured on site.”

Photos and videos posted on social media show people fleeing the scene. Another video shows some individuals hiding outside of buildings, several meters above the ground.
